Our Team
Josh Crone (he/him)
Sensei and Founder
Josh Crone (@twojayjitsu) eats, breathes — and sometimes even sleeps — jiu jitsu, karate, and fitness. As founder of Flow Martial Arts, Josh is a second-degree black belt in Shotokan karate and a BJJ brown belt under Professor Caio Terra and Gravity BJJ’s Logan Lidemark. His goal? To turn regular humans into super-powered athletes and standup human beings.
Josh has over 20 years of coaching, sport-specific training, martial arts, and strength and conditioning experience with a foundation in team sports. Inherently, his legacy of teamwork is what differentiates Josh’s approach to martial arts. While martial arts is traditionally a solo endeavour, Josh believes that when we see karate, kickboxing, and jiu jitsu as team sports, we become better athletes, better martial artists, and better human beings — together. In other words, your greatest opponent is your greatest teacher.
What’s more, Josh’s life-long passion for teaching has led him to work with children with special needs as a behaviour interventionist through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. He uses martial arts, sports and movement to aid in social, cognitive, and physical development and is a proud member of the First Nations community.

Vincent Li (he/him)
Head Instructor, Sensei
WE CALL HIM, “THE LEGEND.”
We call him, “the legend.” Vinny Li (@vincent_li93) has come onto the Canadian boxing scene guns ablaze. Legend Vinny has competed in over 24 amateur and pro fights under Boxing BC. As our head striking coach, Vinny Lee has the heart of a warrior, fists like bricks, and a deadly body shot. Vinny is an amateur heavyweight boxer, a second-degree black belt in Shotokan karate, and a Brazilian jiu-jitsu purple belt under Professor Caio Terra and Josh Crone.
For kids and adults alike, Vinny’s classes focus on technique, conditioning, and precision to create a well-rounded class that not only teaches techniques, but life skills to help kids and adults become better people. What started as a mission to get in shape turned into a lifelong journey of community involvement and helping others achieve their own fitness, mindset, and mental health goals. Sensei Vinny has a master’s degree in social work from UBC. Shoot like an arrow. Sting like a bee. Fine-tune your technique with the Legend.

Shayne Kumar (he/him)
Head Instructor, Sensei
Shayne Kumar is a second-degree blackbelt in Shotokan karate and purple belt under Josh Crone. He’s donned the jiu jitsu podium at CBJJF and Tiger Balm. As one of Flow’s three Senseis, Shayne is a master of all trades, and has taught kickboxing, karate, and jiu jitsu to students aged 3 to 73.
Sensei Shayne has been a lifelong martial artist, kicking off (pun-intended) his own journey to blackbelt as a young grasshopper at five years old. At age 14, Shayne started training under Sensei Josh and Sensei Vinny. The skills and life lessons he learned from them turned him into the martial artist, the blackbelt, and the person he is today. Now, he’s on a quest to give this same gift to others.
For Sensei Shayne, watching his students gain skills and grow personally is the most rewarding part of being a martial artist. “Martial arts is my passion,” he says, “I’m lucky enough to do it with the people I love.”

Chantelle Ingram (she/her)
Kickboxing Coach
Chantelle moved from Ontario to British Columbia in 2011 and never looked back. While studying for her undergraduate degree, she was looking for a fun group class to join to promote better mental health and fitness ability. In 2013, Chantelle’s friend invited her to join a Muay Thai class and she immediately became hooked (get it).
Chantelle has since been training for over ten years as a hobby/sport at various studios in Vancouver. She appreciates being a part of a space that teaches strength, resiliency, and mindfulness and is honoured to welcome all students to be a part of this. Chantelle also promotes self-empowerment throughout her classes, especially for females and female- identifying students. There is no better way to increase your confidence than being constantly cheered for.
Chantelle happily joined Flow in 2021 and was invited to coach in 2022 due to her years of experience with Muay Thai and teaching. In her class, you can expect to work on strength and conditioning, sparring, and drilling combos while also focusing on breaking down attacks and moving intentionally. Don’t let that smile fool you — she has a wicked roundhouse!
